A statement piece is a bold wardrobe piece that takes an outfit to a whole another level. That piece that it’s hard to ignore in a room full of people. I am sure there is different levels of “statement pieces” but for me this attention-grabbing jacket is statement enough. Something so bold can’t be worn everyday (at least by me) but if you have read some of my past posts like Tomboy Forever (how to dress down a SP) & What is Good Style? (breakdown of good & bold style); I am all about investing in versatile affordable pieces and yes ladies, this is also possible for a statement piece!
Keep in mind that great statement piece can be dressed up or down but my favorite SP always look best dressed down because they liven up an otherwise boring get up. Statement pieces come in many shapes or forms from clothing to furniture but my most common go-to are bold and blingy necklaces specially during these holidays. So if you’re ready to get noticed and get out of the ordinary safe dressing get yourself a statement piece because ain’t nothing wrong with shining bright every now and then. 😉
In this little story I play around in Koreatown dressing up my shiny beacon of light with one of my favorite slip dresses. I just realized I keep gravitating towards new-school moto jackets and slip dresses. No shame in finding a style that you love and keep on recycling. The quintessential 90s slip dress may be a current trend but a good funky moto jacket is always in.
“Life is grey and dull; you might as well have a little fun when you dress.”
Still getting away with open toe mules in L.A. I’ve had these for a minute but I will tag some of my faves at the end of the post.
